Aqualyx cosmetic is a solution developed in Italy for use in procedures aimed at addressing localised fat deposits and the appearance of cellulite. Aqualyx is based on a modified compound from the deoxycholate family. Through the use of a slow-release, sugar-based system, the formulation is designed to optimise its activity profile and support a well-tolerated application.

Aqualyx cosmetic is not a dermal filler, but a fat-dissolving solution. The treatment is performed using intralipotherapy needles (not included).

The active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, helps break down localised fat deposits that may persist despite diet and exercise.

Deoxycholic acid is naturally present in the body, where it plays a role in breaking down and emulsifying fats before they are absorbed in the digestive system.

Common areas where localised fat or cellulite may occur include:

Thighs

Abdomen

Buttocks

Hips

Knees

Chin

Saddlebags

Male chest area

Individuals with localised adiposity, meaning accumulations of subcutaneous fat that do not respond significantly to diet and physical activity, may be suitable candidates for treatment with ultrasound and Aqualyx.

For example, women may target areas such as the hips or “saddlebags” on the thighs, while men may choose to address abdominal fat or the appearance of a double chin.

How does Aqualyx cosmetic work? Unlike many other lipolytic products, Aqualyx is not based on phosphatidylcholine (PC). Instead, it uses a sodium salt of 12 alpha-dihydroxy-5 beta-24-oico cholanic acid, which interacts with fat cell membranes and supports the reduction of localized fat deposits in various areas of the face and body. Procedure – How Aqualyx works: Aqualyx is used in professional aesthetic procedures to support body contouring and help achieve a more defined silhouette. This treatment is also known as Aqualysis or Aquaplasty. During the procedure, the product is applied using appropriate professional techniques. It helps to liquefy fat cells, which are then naturally processed and eliminated through the lymphatic system. Ultrasound guidance may be used to monitor the distribution of the product in localized fat areas. A typical session lasts up to one hour. While 2–8 sessions may be required, visible results can often be seen after the first or second treatment. Sessions are usually spaced 4 weeks apart. More resistant areas such as hips and thighs may require additional treatments compared to smaller areas like the chin or neck, which may respond within 1–3 sessions. Use of local anesthetic (lidocaine): The use of lidocaine is recommended to ensure a more comfortable procedure. It can be applied prior to the treatment or combined with the product by qualified professionals. What is Aqualyx used for? Aqualyx is used in aesthetic treatments to reduce localized, stubborn fat deposits in areas such as:

 • Chin
 • Abdomen
 • Inner and outer thighs
 • Hips
 • Knees

Who is the treatment suitable for? It is ideal for individuals seeking a non-surgical solution to reduce small, localized fat deposits and improve body contour. Is it suitable for weight loss? No, Aqualyx is not intended for weight loss but for targeted body contouring and reduction of localized fat deposits.
